WEBSITE
Our club website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows you to contact us through our website.
Traffic analysers may be used on this website for measuring the number of visitors the site receives. Website visits are displayed on a 'visitor counter' which can be seen on the 'Home' page. We do not collect any personal or identifying information relating to any visitor unless supplied to us on the 'CONTACT' page of the website.
You can configure your browser to block cookies if you wish, but you should still be able to view all the information provided on the website, subject to your membership status, i.e. the 'Members Only' page will not be available to non-members.
If you contact us through the website 'CONTACT' page, we will use your personal data, as supplied by you, only for the purpose of replying to you or to make Committee members aware of your enquiry or to resolve any enquiry you may make. You will need to provide your name and email address for this purpose. We will not pass on your details to any external source unless you specifically agree for us to do this.
PHOTOGRAPHS & PHOTO GALLERY
Our members often take photographs and share images for publication on our website. It is possible for other members and visitors to the website to download these photographs and make use of them as they wish. If you submit to, or share images with, any of our Walking Group Secretaries, or the Webmaster, you are consenting to their publication on the site 'Photo Gallery' or any other page of the website and their free use by any member or visitor to the website.
WALKING GROUP PROGRAMMES
We use Google Sheets to compile our walking group programmes. Google Sheets is an online spreadsheet hosted by Google.com. In order for you to add details to, or edit, the online programmes, you may have to register with Google.com and accept their terms and conditions. Any editing of the programmes may be immediately visible to anyone who has access to the spreadsheet.
Names and telephone numbers of walk leaders, Committee members and event organisers are shown on our website and also on our printed programmes. Members' email addresses, with the exception of the website contact address, are not generally published on the programmes unless we are given your permission to do this.
LINKS
Our website 'Links' Page lists several links to external websites which we believe may be useful to members and visitors. However, we are not responsible for the content of these websites and we recommend you review the privacy policy of any website you choose to view from our 'LINKS' page before submitting any personal data to them.
WALKING PARTNERSHIP
Bury HF has joined The Walking Partnership and our club benefits from direct financial support from Ramblers Worldwide Holidays if a holiday booking is made via a declared recommendation through our website. However, we cannot control the use of any data you supply to Ramblers Worldwide Holidays and we recommend you review their privacy policy before booking a holiday through our website link.
MEMBERSHIP
If you decide to join our club:
1) We will hold personal information about you (e.g. name, address, telephone number, email address) to help administer your membership.
2) Your name and telephone number will only be published if you choose to lead a walk or organise an event or become a member of the Committee.
3) We may use the email address you provide us with to keep you informed of club events, provide you with information and updates about walks and to share with you members' photographs. When we do this, your email address may be visible to others. You can choose to opt out of any circulation list at any time by contacting the Club Secretary.
